And developments on the Medical Front!

A Japanese doctor said, "Medicine in my country is so advanced that we
took the kidney out of one man, put it in another, and have him looking for
work in six weeks."

A German doctor said, "That's nothing, we can take a lung out of one
person, put it in another, and have him looking for work in four weeks."

A British doctor said, "In my country, medicine is so advanced that we can
take half of a heart out of one person, put it in another, and have them
both looking for work in two weeks."

A Chicago doctor, not to be outdone said, "You guys are way behind. We
took a man with no brains out of Chicago, put him in the White House, and now
half the country is looking for work."

           Schuylkill County Sportsman's Association

Banquet, September 11, 2010. (Details and Poster here)

It's late, but there are still some openings. The club

has offered to sponsor two participants, if you are a

TRPC member, and have a youth  age 13-15 who would

like to participate, call or email Porcupine Pate for more info. See flyer below.     (see better detail) If it's too late

this year, start planning for next!

Coming soon, our newest page, "Politics & Religion", guaranteed to be controversial, never a dull moment! We'll keep you posted as it develops!

New Page, Courses Of Fire ,  of interest to those new to the club, or resuming activity, also linked through the "Events" page. Everything you've always wanted to know about our scheduled matches, but were afraid to ask!

Keep an eye on Peg Luksik's campaign for US Senate. We need a breath of Fresh Air. The "obama death care" stench in Washington DC is unbearable. Luksik is part of the long overdue cure.                                         http://pegluksik.com/

Also Keep an eye on Russ Diamond for Lieutenant Governor. Web http://www.russdiamond.org/ .

The Zimmerman Family and to a lesser extent the TR&PC both suffered a tragic loss in a house fire friday afternoon the 26th feb. Condolences to the family from the club. Bob's aggressive no-nonsense-tolerated style got a lot done for the club, and he will be sorely missed. http://republicanherald.com/news/authorities-id-victim-in-lake-wynonah-fire-investigators-look-into-cause-of-friday-night-blaze-1.645926 .

New Page, "Administration", listed under "About Us".

                                               http://tulrpc.com/Administration.aspx

The idea of a "chaplain's page" for this web came up. From studying the writings of the founders of the USA, it is obvious that belief in a creator and higher spiritual power was the source of their convictions. It was also their conviction that lack of fidelity to this concept would erode the future of their grand experiment in freedom. Is it time to take another look at the source of America's greatness?                    http://tulrpc.com/chaplain.aspx

Rep Sam Rohrer is running for

Governor of Pennsylvania !!!  This is is good news to all the freedom loving citizens of this state. Fiscal responsibility and the rule of the law of the State and Federal constitutions have for far too long taken a back seat to the insidious lure of "instant gratification". We should soon have "Sam Rohrer for Governor" bumper stickers available at the clubhouse at the regular monthly meetings, and hopefully at competitions. Get one on your automobile, and add your voice to those demanding responsible government!

PS - It's been a while since the site has been updated. Apologies to all. How can we be so busy, while at the same time the economy so slow and work so scarce? Maybe it is a variation on the retirement paradox? When you announce retirement, your family, friends, and neighbors swamp you with projects to do in "all your new found free time"?!?!?.....  Anyway, a hint... anything needing prompt attention, email the web administrator at home. His email is on the "Contact Us" page. It is not a click through address, you will need to type it into your web browser. I did not update this web, nor my own, since september '09. When I update, the "Events" page gets the past events "grayed out", the future evens are light brown. So you can tell whenever I get behind...

By now most of us will be aware of the threatened swine flu "epidemic" on its way. Regardless of your opinion on the credibility of the threat, and the safety of the rapidly-being-developed "vaccine", you may wish to make yourself aware of the option of "assasination by flu vaccine" for people you really, really dislike... It's perfectly legal too! Honest!

See http://www.homefirst.com/content/view/293/ . Remember the "Mafia flu-shot jab conspiracy" from 1976?

Thanks to all who volunteer to help police the range. If we will all pick up just a bit more than our own trash, and repair just a bit more than the wear on the range that we ourselves are responsible for, we will have a showplace we can be proud of at all times. Let's all do our part! Also, thanks to whoever brought out the trash barrels to the Molleystown range!

Winners just posted on our "Fundraiser" page. ( http://tulrpc.com/fundraiser.aspx ) Congratulations winners, and thanks to all for supporting the club!

Our Constutution and By-Laws are now available in large print edition. See this week, at the regular monthly meeting. Will be available at meetings, or send s.a.s.e. to our PO box 253 here in Pine Grove.

A special thanks to all our web visitors. It is our pleasure to serve you, the sport shooting community, and all interested persons. Most of you will realize that the political and religious opinions expressed or implied on this site are those of your humble administrator, and not the official policy of the club. To those of you for whom this is news, well, "Roses have Thorns", and your web administrator has opinions. If your opinion differs, and you wish to give it some exposure, send us an email!

Subject: Be sure and watch this video which was not allowed in America.

I THINK THIS IS A MUST WATCH FOR ALL AMERICANS

This video shows that George Bush tried to warn Congress in 2002 that this economic crisis was coming, if something was not done.  But congress refused to listen, along with Barney Franks.  This video says it all.

Also that the liberal AMERICAN media did not want this video on You Tube, so they had Time Warner threaten a law suit (proprietary rights) if it was not taken off.

This link is of the same video but is routed through Canada .  Everyone in America needs to see this!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMnSp4qEXNM&NR=1

[You can see why the Dems want to control the news, talk radio (instituting the 'Fairness Doctrine'), the universities, history, reinterpretation of the Bill of Rights & The Constitution, education, etc., hoping to get rid of anything that reveals the truth and opposes their agenda.  John 8:32 - "...the truth will make you free."]

and, here's an even scarier question: could all this have been allowed to happen --on purpose?!...

Thanks to all who made the Battle of the Bulge shoot a great time!

Thanks to those who returned surveys with their renewal. Evidently 80% of the club is pretty well pleased with the way things are progressing in new range development, as we averaged about 20% survey returns. Your prioritization and suggestions affirmed a broad and general support for all six ideas presented, with more support for some than others, but not disproportionately so. Stay tuned for developements...

There's been far more random fire at the new range than we'd like to see. Remind your shooting friends that all range rules apply at the Molleystown range, as they do at the Pine Grove range. Currently the only long term designated impact area at the Molleystown range is aligned with the benches on the new 30 yard utility range. Please use it. If there are still too many rocks in the berm for you, get off your butt and pick some out. The impact area for the 2oo yard envelope has become unsuitable for use, hard use has degraded it to a rock pile. Please collect information on improper range use to report to the club at the regular meetings. Policing our own ranks and maintaining discipline accordingly will result in years of peaceful use of the range. Willful infraction of range rules WILL result in disciplinary action. We are NOT Burma road, and we do not wish to become another "Mountain Top". Please pass it on.

We did some work recently on the new range near Molleystown. Cleared a large area currently classified as remedial, eventually will be shotgun area. Also we improved the expedient range toward the center of the property, to give safe and comfortable shooting off 6 benches. This area will relieve the load on our old range, and encourage our members to become acquainted with the new. We only have a yearly lease on the old range, so the new one will eventually be considered our primary facility. Please respect the range rules, including to ensure that all fired bullets hit the disignated impact areas (backstops). We do not want the entire length of range areas to be shot up. One "Burma Road" is enough. Our safety and environmental concern will go far to ensure our success and permenance as a range club.

The Range Development committee will continue it's efforts to plan for our future. As always, club member input is welcome, as also of course, members of the general community. See the "contact us" page. Should anyone wish to make a contribution, large or small, cash, material, or services, to our cause, it is welcome, as is also your thoughts on how the work should procede.

                 Politically neutral Joke...   (a must-read!)

While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the man.

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

"Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the senator.

"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, Shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting Rich at the expense of the people.

They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises...

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St.
Peter is waiting for him.

"Now it's time to visit heaven."

So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."

The senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would Never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.

He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. "I don't understand," stammers the senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"

The devil looks at him, smiles and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning...  Today you voted."

Presidential Elections will soon be making headlines. One name has been popping up recently, probably the only one that has sparked a glimmer of hope in the heart of anyone I know personally. If you love liberty, you need to learn more about Rep. Ron Paul. http://mysite.verizon.net/nathanielyao/USA_Today_Ad.html

Heads up; all you fellow-members of the vast right-wing conspiracy. The recent round of inflation, evident in the latest surge of fuel oil prices, only lends substance to the suspicions raised by the recent US gov't seizure of assets of the "Liberty Dollar" association. You should still be able to glean most of the gory details through the news at www.wnd.com . While following that thread to its root, came into correspondence with MichaelZWilliamson.com , who passed on this interesting quote:
"The totalitarian states can do great things, but there is one thing
they cannot do: they cannot give the factory-worker a rifle and tell him
to take it home and keep it in his bedroom. That rifle hanging on the
wall of the working-class flat or labourer's cottage, is the symbol of
democracy. It is our job to see that it stays there."
--GEORGE ORWELL
If we accept that definition, far too many of us are trying with all our might to destroy it here at home. We'd be way more successful promoting our values abroad if it was clear we had our "ducks in a row" at home. Anyone else for a restoration of truth and integrity?

The progress made at Front Sight training institute in Nevada over the last few years is astounding. Their success at exceeding the expectations of their clients, members, and guests has lead them to become the largest and most influential weapons skill trainers in the country. After a mere 11 years it has gone from a credit card and a dream to what is widely acclaimed as the "very best". See and send for the info at www.frontsight.com . Just finished seeing their free DVD. Featuring Accolades from NRA, Gun Owners of America, JPFO and others, and documentation of what has earned this profound respect. Check it out, I'm confident they will win yours.
Their current promotion (sorry, they're not offering the free sub-machine gun course anymore!) can be viewed at their web.

We have been introduced to a new shooting discipline, similar to action pistol courses, but indoors or at home, and with air pistols. For details, see www.actionairgun.com , and if you like, you may email shooters@actionairgun.com , to see if you qualify for their one time "beta" program, of free use of one of their deluxe shooters kits for their first season. Looks like an excellent way to get some inexpensive, reduced stress training in the comfort of your own garage, basement, or spare bedroom! Train, shoot, and compete as an individual or team. One kit will suffice for up to 10 shooters. Get your friends and neighbors together to form a league. Scores are posted online, on their web site. Each season lasts 12 weeks, four a year.

The new application cards have been printed, and are available for distribution. We'll have their image available for online printing soon. HERE IT IS! Yes, TR&PC still wants YOU! Thanks to all the current club members who have already renewed. New membership cards were printed and delivered just this week, and will be coming out to you soon.

Whats new? Photos, that's whats new! If you have any real good ones of the club or range, send 'em in!

What's OLD!? 1958 was a good Year!
View from parking lot, toward 200 yd rifle range.

Dues having increased as of the sept '07 meeting recently past, and the By-laws and Constitution updated accordingly, we have taken the opportunity at this time to improve the club By-Laws document by the addition of an expedient map to it's back cover. Look for it soon, probably in a general mailing around the turn of the year. They will also be sent out with each new membership, and be available at regular meetings, and at the annual banquet. Remember how much time you used to spend explaining to people how to get to our range, or to the clubhouse? No more! Just show or give them a copy of the By-laws, map on the back cover, and we're as easy as pie to find. We'll try to get a stack of them in the "mail box" at the Pine Grove range asap. Take as many as you can judiciously use or give away. Copies for such general distribution will be printed with inexpensive aftermarket ink to keep the costs affordable, so keep them out of the rain; the ink will run if gotten wet. Copies with waterproof ink are available at regular meetings, or send s.a.s.e. (stamped envelope) to our club PO Box. The "good ones" can be identified by a small "dbu" on the lower-right from the map, in color, to identify the original manufacturer's ink used. Direct all your best friends and neighbors to our club, we love good company!

Dues were increased by the voting membership at the Sept 6 regular meeting, to $30 per year for senior. Junior remained the same as before. This increase, although hefty, still leaves us very competative with other clubs of our caliber. Those who promoted the $10 increase did so on the basis of several facts. First, in responsibly planning for the future enhancement of our range facilities, the club bought a substantial interest this summer, in property adjoining our Molleystown address. Payment on this financial obligation alone will absorb the anticipated revenue from this increase for several years. Second, even though the NRA Foundation has been very generous to the TR&PC in assisting our range development, their administration has not failed to inform us that we must do our share financially too. Our dues have been below the level needed to bring such a facility as is envisioned into being. Third, is is hoped that the increase of general dues will enable those who do not find it convenient to assist more directly in the improvement projects, to take a larger share indirectly, through financial support. It is hoped that the increase will not present an undue hardship to any of our members. Dues for the year 2008 were payable from 1 oct to 31 dec of  2007. Thank you for your support.

                                    **********************************

Here are a few facts about the reality of life; and gun control;

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.

(B) Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year are 120,000.

(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.
( Statistics courtesy of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services.)

Now think about this;

Guns;

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. ( Yes, that's 80 million.)

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, (all age groups) is 1,500.

(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188.
( Stastics courtesy of the F.B.I..)

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

REMEMBER: "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR!

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!

* Out of concern for the public at large, we have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention!

Thanks to all who helped make our Aug on-location meeting at the Molleystown range a success! Attendance was good, we had a nice hike around the property, many good ideas were promoted, and the reality of our new range was made more tangible to those who participated.

Molleystown Range News:

Please note that though the on-site location maps describe the Molleystown range gate as rusty white, it is now actually freshly painted bright, glossy, white! Also lettered for ID. Thanks, Bob Z!
Thanks, members, visitors, and neighbors, for your participation in our outdoor meeting, 2 Aug. Attendance was literally "standing room only" (we only brought a few chairs)! Many got their first impression of the tremendous possibilities we have, and hopefully will return frequently to not just enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the natural settings, but to research their own range development ideas. Keep in touch!

Major Fund Drive! An honor plaque will be created for major supporters of $500 and up. Timely development of our 70+ acres near Molleystown is a priority. Please Support the Club!!

TR&PC is engaged in negotiations that will hopefully ultimately permit us to put in a 1000 yard rifle range! More news in a few days... (yes, we bought more ground)

Its not too early to start thinking about the 2008 season. Last year, 2006, the club voted to resume our old rule of renewing club membership from 1 Oct to 31 Dec. , as many of us have continued to do. This year, 2007, has been designated as a transition year, so we can all get up to speed. For 2008, we all want to be on board with timely renewals during the period from 1 Oct to 31 Dec this year, and all be renewed for 2008 by the end of 2007. Many choose to renew during the annual banquet, or at either the Oct, Nov, or Dec meetings. Thanks for your support! We're a great club, and are getting even better! More news on that soon!

We are eagerly anticipating resumption of development activity at our Molleystown range. It is not too late to submit your ideas or suggestions. See "In The Works" for resources and our direction to date.

News just came in from the National Taxpayers Union! ( http://www.ntu.org/main/ ) Their opinion is that voters should beware the Act 1 Tax Swap scheme. They say vote no; or you'll end up with extra income tax,
little or no property tax reduction, and some smug legislators. Until we truly understand why school taxes are so high, and the results so dismal, we'll never get a handle on this.

From wnd.com news service, "This day in WND history". (About book, "More Guns-Less Crime")

Concealed guns prevent mass shootings

April 29, 1999: Before Virginia Tech – before Columbine – the research data revealed what's only become clearer with each tragic mass shooting – allowing citizens to carry concealed handguns reduces options for killers and saves the innocent.

WND reported on a recently released study by John R. Lott, Jr. and William M. Landes of the Chicago University School of Law that concluded "shall-issue laws" for concealed carry weapons had a "significant impact on multiple shootings." Indeed, the authors wrote, "It is the only law-related variable that appears to have a significant impact."

"We also find that shall-issue laws deter both the number of multiple shootings and the amount of harm per shooting," said the study. In addition, the authors discovered that shooting deaths were steadily increasing before a number of states began passing "shall-issue" or "concealed-carry" laws several years before.

MANY UTAHANS PROUD TO HAVE CONCEALED CARRY ON CAMPUS . . . Following widespread speculation on how the Virginia Tech tragedy may have been minimized if the college community was allowed to legally carry firearms, the Associated Press reported that Utah is the only state to have legislated the right to concealed carry on state property, including public colleges. "What happened at Virginia Tech might have been stopped," said Christine Zabawa, a medical researcher at the University of Utah. Also quoted is Michael Waddoups, Utah state senator, who said, "If government can't protect you, you should have the right to protect yourself." (From NSSF "Bullet Points"; for more news, see www.NSSF.org , for the National Shooting Sports Foundation, of which we are a member)

Concealed Carry...should we do concealed carry when it is required, and refrain when it is unnecessary? Or is your responsible choice to carry a firearm at all times that a reasonable person would consider defense of self, family, or community to be a desireable option against unlawful adversity? We have seen measurable benefit from laws encouraging responsible concealed weapon carry. Should we not maximize their effectiveness by diligently exercising our right? Please see form letter from Sheriff McAndrew's office on the topic (yellow highlight section). You may wish to call him and share your thoughts, and your voting intentions.

Our hearts go out to the innocent victims at the Virginia college. The outcome may not have been as tragic had not "Gun Free School" legislation denied them the civil right of self defense. Selah. A Time Will Come for us to beat swords into plowshares, after enmity and hatred is banished from the hearts of men, but until then we must retain the option of self-defense.

Let's pause to reflect on the the success of the Israeli school system in their response to the rash of shootings in the '70's. It appears to have come to us now, and denial will not make it go away.

All you old hands at the internet will want to advise us on how we can make our site better, and more useful to your fellow club members, and interested visitors. Give us your two cents worth; we'll respond as often as we can. We're all in this together, and we can make it work!

In anticipation of range-development activity this summer, we are offering several acres of live, standing trees to local industry. See our "WANTED!" poster, on the navigation bar to the left.

We hope that you'll visit us for one of our scheduled matches at our Pine Grove boro range; at a regular scheduled meeting at our clubhouse, (courtesy of Snyders Furniture, Pine Grove); or ask a club member for a brief tour of our new location near Mollystown.
